Greets all!

Been out of the biking scene for about ten years, after having a long run with several Japanese sportbikes.  I felt the urge again, and without a wife nagging me anymore, I jumped back in.  Feeling too old for the crotch rocket scene and wanting to travel more than 2 hours at a time, I stepped up my game with a BMW K1200LT (the LT designation stands for: Light Truck)

Now it's time to hit the road!  Not having a vacation in several years has made me antsy so I'm jumping in with both feet.  Aug.7-9 Damn Yankees BMW rally in Heath, Mass.  August 10-13 Unrally in Lancaster, NH.  From there over to see my folks in Camden, ME, then tent camp my way back to Cleveland.

Is anyone planning on attending either of these rallies?  If not, perhaps we can hook up for a ride or a beverage in Maine.  Would like to stop in and buy a t-shirt as well.

Hey LT,
Welcome to the playground...  Smiley

The Heath Rally is an absolute blast.  I was first introduced to it by a member here which oddly enough we have never been to together...  undecided

Having just come back from that area last weekend and not knowing the spousal weekend schedule (I have not been married for 35 years by accident... Well, maybe...  Tongue  ) I am not entirely sure whether I can make it this year.  We also have a gathering in North Eastern NY that I have been trying to get to for three years which is the following weekend.  So many rallies, so little time... cry

All right, give a call if you need anything while blowing through Maine, or just want to stop in for a brewski, we are just down the coast from Camden.  And safe travels to you.

Best,
Rob

Thanks Rob, I may take you up on that!  I plan on riding a bit while in Camden, possibly to the Penobscot Narrows bridge and tool around Bar Harbor, just to say I did.  I will be in town after the UNRally so I should be in Camden Aug. 12-15th.  I realize that is during the week, but if you're availible, let me know!  I'm always looking to meet like-minded folks.

Hi, just found this site, very nice. I'm from Southern NH and have a few bikes. My current favorite is the 75 860GT, great toy, didn't work to well when I got it but is getting better now, I naturally saw that someone else has one, OH thank God! I additionally have a HD Herritage, 3 Yamaha SR500's etc. I love old bikes especially euro's, Dave

Dave,
Welcome abaord! Early 75 or late? (the early ones had a flat seat and the late 75s had a kick up on the rear) SR 500s? We'll have to talk sometime. I owned one or two over the years.
Mike

SmileyHowdy all. Greetings from Birch Bend MotoLodge in Shelburne N.H. My wife Bec and I started our new life up here in the mountains doin what we love, riding especially. I ride an 07  Aprilia Tuono R and Bec is on a Ninja 500. We bought the motel to cater to the riding community and it's the kind of place we used to like to stay when on the road. We'd love to become a sponser for the European Bike event and are trying to round up some friends to "crash the party'!! If anyone's ever in the area stop in and say hi. And we do need some guidance as we've not ridden much in Maine. Ride on.

Greetings all- My wife Lin and I just came back from the ride-in at Sunday River last weekend. As someone remarked Sunday "it was so perfect it was almost scary". Had a good time and hope to return next year, maybe with a Norton this time, and my son on a Norton also. Who knows? It was great to meet a bunch of like minded folk. see you next year- maybe sooner.
